Looking for novel ways to connect and have fun with friends and family? We found just the thing thanks to our besties J+Z. And, it’s certainly healthier than all the Zoom cocktails we’ve been ducking into (sometimes twice in one night). Follow the instructions below to learn how to get your game buzz on. Hangovers optional.

Jackbox Games is an old school gaming studio that cut its teeth with the irreverent CD Rom title ‘You Don’t Know Jack’ back in 1995. Since then they have made a suite of hilarious trivia and other creative competitive games like Fibbage, Drawful, Joke Boat, and Word Spud. There are several ways to stream Jackbox games but we found it was easiest to create an account on Steam, the ultimate platform for playing, discussing, and creating games.

  1. Create free Steam account here.

  2. Go to Jackbox Games and buy Steam codes of the games you want. They are giving away Drawful2 for three weeks. In addition to Drawful, we love the games Joke Boat, Fibbage, and Trivia Murder Party. The funnier your crew is the better the experience. You will get an email with your Steam codes as well as a PDF. Copy the codes from your email.

  3. Go back to Steam and enter activation code(s).

  4. Go to Zoom and invite your players. Each player will need a phone or tablet to use as a controller.

  5. Start one of your games and share your screen.

  6. Full Zoom instructions from Jackbox here. It can be a little buggy at first so I’d run a test with someone at home before launching with the group.

Start the party now! Use code REMOTEPLAY to receive 20% off Steam codes (usable on PC, Mac, or Linux) in the official Jackbox Games shop
